Education and Training
CRNA program is designed according to the needs of modern medicine. CRNA Program is certified by Council On Accreditation of Nursing Anesthetist, and proper training is provided to the students with real exposure to professional experience. On completion of 3 years program, everyone has to go through the final exam set by the Council on Accreditation to be declared as a Certified Registered Nursing Anesthetist (CRNA).
During the 1st year, the students will attend the maximum classes of 36 credit hours at the University of Missouri in the State of Kansas. The 36 credit hours is based on the following subjects:
- MS of Arts in Biology
- Medical Neuroscience
- Research and Statistics
The classes are based students from various fields of medical including School of Medicine, School of Dentistry, School of Nursing, School of Pharmacy and School of Biology.
In the anesthesia section of the program the students will be involved actively in the following areas:
- Nurse Anesthesia Aspects
- Basic and Advanced Principles of Anesthesia
- Journal Club
- Mortality and Morbidity Conferences
- Clinical Seminars
- Certification Exam Review Course
The students will gain the clinical experience in 8 hospitals affiliated with the Truman Medical Center, and all eight hospitals are located in the State of Missouri. If the students are relocated to the clinical site on more than 90 minutes of the distance, the free housing will be provided.
The students will practice the regional anesthesia administration in following areas:
- Brachial Plexus
- Intravenous Techniques
- Intraoperative Management
The students will gain a broader range of experience at Truman Medical Center, almost 4000+ surgical operation are carried out at Truman Medical Center, out of which 26% cases are of category ASA Class-III and higher. Around 2500 delivery are made at High-Risk Pregnancy Center Truman Medical Center every year. The students will also be relocated to Children’s Mercy Hospital.
